It was a rainy evening, but the weather did not deter the crowds from trudging towards The Cathay at Handy Road for the premiere of one of the most anticipated films of the season. It was nice to bump into one of my friends from Law, who wrote on my Facebook wall the night before saying that he would also be attending the gala premiere, and who ended up sitting right behind me in the theatre! Dude, if you’re reading this, hello again! :)
The only way to win is to survive.
All guests were required to surrender their electronic devices, including all mobile phones and cameras, at Level 1 prior to entering the complex. The Tron models were available for photo-taking before and after the screening so you can imagine the throng surrounding them!

I have not seen the 1982 Tron release, but that did not affect my enjoyment of the sequel. Tron: Legacy is fast-paced, packed with action, stunning imagery, and ear-popping music, and peppered with humour. You will not be disappointed (definitely not in the visual sense) – in fact, you’ll be kept on the edge of your seat the whole time!

Imagine spending your whole life building something as magnificent as The Grid only to end up perishing with it in a bid to save your son. Kind of like all for nothing, if you know what I mean. Where’s the happy ending? :(
I went in with an open mind, and left the theatre with only one phrase running through my head - “obsession with clean lines, neon colours, and (shattering) glass”, to which Skye replied, “What did you expect? It was the 80s!”
Tron: Legacy opens in theatres tomorrow! *cue Daft Punk music*
Go get your dose of this visual feast and let me know what you think! :)
