Product Review: Soap & Glory Mini Hand Food

Confession: Until recently, I have almost always neglected my hands. There, I said it. And I don’t mean it in the disgusting nail-chewing kind of way. Eww.

I paint my nails almost every week (I usually wear a particular nail colour for a week, sometimes two, depending on my mood). Nail lacquer removers can be very drying to the skin. And all that typing on the keyboard, flipping of books, the frequent paper cuts, hand-washing, etc… I have a pair of very busy hands! Well, who doesn’t? :P But, how often do we actually pay attention to them and give them the TLC they deserve?

It wasn’t until last year when Soap & Glory hit our local Sephora that I seriously considered using a hand cream. Previously, I wasn’t inclined to use hand creams on a regular basis because they (at least, those that I had tried) were greasy and/or left a strange film on my hands, which is kind of icky!

Oh, how I love Soap & Glory products! If you haven’t checked them out, you must! All (and I do mean all) of their products smell so good. Which explains why pink is taking over my bathroom! One of these awesome pink products is Soap & Glory’s Hand Food… Mini!

I first purchased the full size of Hand Food (125ml) for an ex-colleague. She loved it! Thereafter, I purchased two Hand Food Minis (50ml each) – one for a friend (as part of the Christmas parcel I put together for her, along with other goodies) and one for myself (finally!). I like the Mini because it’s so handy (haha – handy, get it?!) and practically fits into any purse!

Hand Food is, as the folks at Soap & Glory had described, “a silky soft non-greasy hand cream with shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow”.

Shea butter (rich in Vitamins A, E and F) and marshmallow nourish and soothe chapped, dry skin, while macadamia oil softens, heals and moisturises the skin. Sound yummy enough to eat! :P

The first thing you’d notice about Hand Food is its fragrance. It smells very pleasant - like a very good blend of florals… and strawberries and woody notes. Whenever someone near you uses Hand Food, you will definitely catch a whiff of it. The scent is so distinct, yet in no way overpowering. I don’t know how Soap & Glory did it, but great job! I never get tired of smelling this amazing hand cream.

If all your hand creams are leaving your hand greasy, you’ve got to try Hand Food. Upon application, the cream sinks right into the skin. All you get are smooth, moisturised hands and a really good scent! I guess that’s why it’s called Hand Food… it feeds your hands! ;)

With regular “feeding”, my hands will be in top condition in no time! They already look much better since I started using Hand Food.

Speaking of hand creams, ever since I purchased Hand Food, I’ve received four tubes of hand cream as gifts (I think the hand cream elves thought my hands needed more help!) – hopefully, I’ll get around to reviewing those soon, too!

Hand Food retails at SGD11 and SGD7 for 125ml and 50ml respectively.
