Sponsored Review

Hey guys, do you have a favourite brand of foundation? Even before I started experimenting with makeup, I noticed many of my friends using Za’s foundation – there are always a Skin Beauty 2-Way Foundation or a True White 2-Way Foundation compact lying around!

Recently, I popped by Za’s office and was introduced to a couple of new products… and they’re in the bag! ;)

Exhibition: Beauty in Black at the National Museum of Singapore

It’s exhibition week on the blog! :P

Earlier this week, I dropped by the National Museum of Singapore to see Beauty in Black (remember the article I wrote?). Showcasing 18 stunning dresses from the Museum’s collection, Beauty in Black is a must-see for fans of the Little Black Dress (“LBD”) (ME ME ME!). Needless to say, I wore an LBD to the exhibition! :)

Sponsored Event: Trip to ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands on Sunday, 20 March 2011

Sponsored Event

Hi guys! I finally got around to sorting through the photos taken during my visit to the ArtScience Museum last Sunday. I took 759 photos in total (nope, I’m not going to upload all of them)! I’ll highlight some in this post, and put the rest of the photos in a gallery (in the style of my Valentino exhibition post) so that the post doesn’t crash your browser. No promises though, this is an image-intensive post! :)

Located at Marina Bay Sands, the world’s first ArtScience Museum opened its doors to the public on 19 February 2011. I took this photo while standing on the Helix Bridge. Notice that the Museum is lotus-inspired? :)

Sponsored Review: Silkygirl Joyful Eau de Toilette

Sponsored Review

I have a small perfume collection and I rotate the fragrances based on my mood. Most of the time, after I finish a bottle of perfume, I don’t repurchase. It’s not that I don’t like the fragrance; it’s because I want to try out other scents – there are thousands of bottles out there to explore! ;) At the moment, the two scents which I love to wear are Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere and Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I’ve had my eye on Chloé for a while, too.

French poet Paul Valéry once said, “A woman who doesn’t wear perfume has no future.” (Coco Chanel took credit for the famous quote though!) Chanel believed that elegant women and perfume go together. And I believe that a woman who knows how to wear a good scent can be considered well-groomed. Also, your choice of perfume reveals something about your personality and style. ;)

I love to try new fragrances! Imagine my delight when I pulled this out of the goodie bag

Presenting to you, Silkygirl’s Joyful Eau de Toilette! :)

Meanwhile, here’s the magazine scan on the special feature. My mini review is featured therein.

“The Za True White Plus 2-way Foundation’s a lightweight multi-tasker that provides great coverage and brightens the skin. The smooth and radiant finish is great and it’s long-lasting too!”

A Peek At My Style: Navy Jersey Blazer from Stephie’s Shop

Hi guys! It’s mid-week, and Beauty in Black launches today at the National Museum of Singapore! I’ll be hitting the exhibition soon. ;)

Here’s another peek at my style. I love blazers! I have them in satin, woven cotton, polyester… single-breasted, military, nautical… they just smarten up any outfit! And you don’t even need to wear anything ultra fancy underneath. A simple top and blazer takes you through client interviews, dinner, and shopping!

I recently purchased a navy jersey blazer from Stephie’s Shop and received it in the mail yesterday. Navy is one of my favourite colours (I love navy striped anything as well!). Coco Chanel revolutionised women’s fashion by introducing jersey, a material which was commonly used for men’s underwear during her time.  Also, Chanel started the women’s blazer trend. I chanced upon this bestseller at Stephie’s and of course I had to get it! The jersey blazers are sold out from time to time. From my understanding, there are three colours to choose from – grey, navy and black. I think black was sold out on the day I made the purchase.

I like that the jersey blazer has a soft structure to it and is so versatile. On casual days, wear it with jeans. For work, wear it with black skinny pants. I know I should have worn a lighter top in the photo below! I have lots of dark-coloured tops (mostly black and navy) and my light-coloured clothes are shirts. I can’t work the white tee, for some reason. Maybe it’s because I haven’t found the perfect one! Btw, I believe this blazer should fit UK sizes 6 to 10. The sleeves are full-length; I rolled them up. :)

Product Review: Soap & Glory Scrub ‘Em And Leave ‘Em Body Buff

When Soap & Glory landed on Singapore  shores last year, one of the items I got in my first haul was Scrub ‘Em And Leave ‘Em body buff. I’ve been wanting to review it for the longest time but other stuff just kept coming up! *facepalm*

Anyways, it has been some time since my last Soap & Glory review, and it’s high time to show you another amazing product from the house of PINK! ;)

Sponsored Review: Silkygirl Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

Sponsored Review

Weekend is here! :) I really have to go collect my Black Swan tickets from Topshop. I don’t know when screening ends, but I think I’ll go catch it on Monday! Natalie Portman’s eye makeup looks awesome (on the movie poster). I reckon it’d be great for Halloween!

Anyways, do you have a favourite brand of eye makeup remover? :) I have three or four bottles of makeup removers in my beauty box. I rotate them depending on how heavy my makeup is. However, my current stash of makeup removers can’t seem to get rid of the pesky eyelash glue residue on my lids after I remove my false eyelashes. I don’t wear false eyelashes everyday, but when I do, they (both the lashes and the glue) can be a literal pain to remove without the right type of eye makeup remover.

I thanked my lucky stars when I drew this out of the goodie bag! Btw, this is the third item from the bag. Seven more to reveal! ;P

Service Review: Benefit Cosmetics Brow Bar at TANGS Orchard

Hello all! How’s your week been so far? On Monday, I attended a preview screening of Mars Needs Moms at The Cathay, thanks to F*** Magazine. It’s a pretty funny show. Sad, too. At the end of the movie, they showed footage of the motion capture sessions, which I thought was really interesting. :)

Earlier this week, I visited the Benefit Cosmetics Brow Bar at TANGS Orchard. Believe it or not, it was the first time I got my brows done at Benefit. (Confession: I neglect my brows 80% of the time.)

Nestled amongst the cluster of beauty counters and decked out in the brand’s signature coral pink and pale yellow, the Benefit Brow Bar is difficult to miss. ;) I always smile when I see a Benefit counter. It’s like a reflex.

Welcome to the Benefit Brow Bar! :)
