Sponsored Review: Biotherm Skin•Ergetic Serum, Plus Special Metro Promotion for Readers!

Sponsored Review

How many of you are fans of Metro? Recently, I learnt of Avenue M, an online identity created by Metro. Avenue M was created to cater to every style – whether you are the Goddess of Glitz and Glamour or prefer to adopt the Urban Geek Chic fashion, find the right stuff for you at Avenue M! Go ahead, show Metro and Avenue M some love by clicking ‘Like’ on their Facebook pages here and here.

No matter your style, you should look and feel your best while juggling your daily tasks – attending the board meeting, writing that urgent proposal, preparing materials for your presentation… but notice how tired your skin looks? Signs of stress show up on your face. Fatigue sets in. Your complexion looks dull and uneven, lacks radiance, and is rough to the touch. That’s when your co-workers start to remark that you “look tired”, even if you don’t feel that way.

The good news? There’s hope for your skin. Today, we look at Biotherm’s Skin•Ergetic Serum, sponsored by Avenue M.

On Monday evening, I came home to a parcel. The sender of the parcel is Graclyn – we went to school together, and I have known her for about 9 years now! :) She also happened to be one of the winners of the blog’s first giveaway - which means she has been lending her support right from the start, for which I am very grateful.

Okay, so we have here a box. Ready to see what she sent me? :D

Product Review: Chanel No. 5 Hair Mist

Hi! How’s everyone doing? It’s yet another brand new week; October is fast approaching! Well, I did say that September will fly by, didn’t I? ;)

Having published my reviews on the Chanel No. 5 Bath Gel, Eau de Parfum and Velvet Body Cream, it’s about time I wrote one on the Chanel No. 5 Hair Mist! :)

I picked this up last month, and have been using it on a daily basis. Its packaging is similar to the other No. 5 products – a simple white box rimmed with gold, and clean black typeface.

A Chunk of My Weekday: Trip Back to School and Belated Teachers’ Day Greetings ✐

Happy Hump Day, everyone! :) How’s the week going? If you haven’t taken part in my birthday giveaway yet, enter now, because it ends TONIGHT at 11:59pm!

I have, for various reasons, been very occupied and I’m just recovering from a long bout of flu and cough. On Monday, I paid the Sorting Hat a visit – guess what? I got sorted into Ravenclaw! Nooooo. I belong in Slytherin! I thought the Sorting Hat is supposed to take into consideration my preferences?! Oh well. :( I’m still exploring Pottermore in the evenings, though.

Yesterday, I made a trip back to school to attend the Student Internship Programme Launch – basically to speak with the 3rd years on internship etiquette. Here’s part of the view from where we hung out after the Launch. Campus is really beautiful, with all that greenery around.

Teachers’ Day was about two weeks ago, so I brought along some belated Teachers’ Day yummies for my lecturers (and the School Directors as well since I’m there)! Last year, I got them handmade candies from Sticky. This year, I bought these iridescent purple/blue organza bags and put all the goodies in them, along with handwritten SpongeBob notes.

Fancy a Trudge Through the Woods?

I adore foliage. Green is a colour that pleases the eye, and lush foliage makes for great photos. I don’t venture out very often, but when I do, I make sure I take photos of the sunlight filtering through the leaves. Lush greenery reminds me of The Way Through the Woods by Rudyard Kipling. How many of you love this poem too? :)

THEY shut the road through the woods
Seventy years ago.
Weather and rain have undone it again,
And now you would never know
There was once a road through the woods
Before they planted the trees.
It is underneath the coppice and heath,
And the thin anemones.
Only the keeper sees
That, where the ring-dove broods,
And the badgers roll at ease,
There was once a road through the woods.

Yet, if you enter the woods
Of a summer evening late,
When the night-air cools on the trout-ringed pools
Where the otter whistles his mate,
(They fear not men in the woods,
Because they see so few.)
You will hear the beat of a horse’s feet,
And the swish of a skirt in the dew,
Steadily cantering through
The misty solitudes,
As though they perfectly knew
The old lost road through the woods.
But there is no road through the woods.

It’s only mid-week, but hang in there! Two more days to sweet freedom.

Birthday Surprise from Ratta! ❤

A few days after my birthday (speaking of which, have you entered my birthday giveaway yet?), I received a really cute package in the mail. When I saw the envelope, I couldn’t help but grin – isn’t it absolutely adorable? :D I believe that’s Thailand’s postman mascot.

The sender of the package is Ratta, whom I got to know through this blog, and who also happened to be one of the winners of the blog’s anniversary giveaway. Through the blog, I have made quite a few friends, and Ratta is one really sweet person who never fails to make my day!

Product Review: Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in 505 Particulière

Before I start today’s post, I just wanted to ask if you’ve entered my birthday giveaway? 12 more days until it closes! Win some Benefit Cosmetics!

So, I received my first bottle of Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour last Christmas. It was a gift from my sister, and since then, it has been on my “To Be Reviewed” list. I can’t believe it took me nine months to finally write this!

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve worn this colour – it’s such an amazing shade. Called Particulière, this creme taupe is one of the most difficult colours to capture on camera. And that’s probably why it took me so long! Go ahead and Google for swatches – you’ll see that every swatch is different.

I had to resort to taking this outdoors and making use of natural light (hence the reflection of trees on my nails). You are looking at my nails after a base coat, two coats of colour (which is absolutely sufficient), and a top coat. Particulière is a beautiful medium taupe which reminds me of milk chocolate. It goes with almost any outfit and gives you that polished look, which is so perfect for work! If you’re looking for work nail colours, you should also consider OPI’s Dulce de Leche.

I like that Particulière dries quickly, and the brush allows for precise application. I hope you can’t tell that I painted my nails in a rush the night before! :P It has been a few days, and still no sign of chipping. Love the quality!
