Product Review: INM Northern Lights Hologram Top Coat “Silver”

Hello everyone! :)

It’s been a crazy week for me… and it’s just going to get crazier! Tomorrow, I have to attend a wedding in the afternoon, and a birthday party in the evening. What do you plan to do this weekend? I hope you’ll have fun!

Alrighty, remember the surprise parcel from Graclyn? In that package amongst lots of other goodies, was this – a bottle of INM Northern Lights Hologram Top Coat “Silver”, which I dub the prettiest top coat I have ever seen.

Since I have been living under a rock, I hadn’t been aware of the existence of this product until Graclyn sent it to me. Naturally, I looked it up… and found many positive reviews. :)

A small, round silver sticker on the cap begs you to shake the bottle (which, by the way, at first glance appears to contain nothing more than clear lacquer) and see for yourself just what the hype is all about.

There, I shook it! Iridescent micro glitter, sparkling brilliantly, all blended with the clear lacquer. Pretty ain’t it? Let’s swatch it!

In the photo below, I have on just one coat of it. The glitter is very fine, so the effect of one coat is rather subtle.

Here’s a closer look at my nails. I like that I can also use this as a clear top coat for my usual manicures – when I let the bottle stand for a while, all that glitter will settle down at the bottom. On top of that, I love that this dries in a matter of seconds – the fastest-drying top coat I’ve ever used!

I don’t normally apply more than one layer of top coat, but I decided to layer two coats over dark blue nail lacquer just to show you the holographic effect. :) It looks pretty good over a dark lacquer – this particular combo reminds me of a starry night sky. See the multi-coloured glitter? Absolutely dazzling! It’s a quick way to add a twist to your usual manicure.

Here’s three coats!

I’d wear this on days when I need some understated elegance. For chunky glitter, there’s always OPI’s Rainbow Connection!

Did you know there’s a gold version of this Hologram Top Coat? :) Bet that’s something worth checking out!

  1. I can never find a glittered nail polish that contains just the right amount of glitter most of the time its just too much glitter.. that’s for the review (:
